New Jersey requires the person in charge to demonstrate food safety experience and competency as described in the 2013 Food Code.
New Jersey does not have an overall food safety training requirement for Food Handler training, however, at least one County (Bergen) has adopted their own food safety program, so check the county regulations for specific rules.
Although Food Handler training is not mandatory it is highly recommended for staff to be trained.
