Food Protection Manager - Montana - All products

The State of Montana follows the 2013 FDA Food Code, they have adopted these regulations since January 1, 2015.

Food Protection Manager Certification is the only required certification in the state and there must be at least one certified Food Protection Manager on shift at any time the operation is open to the public.

Always Food Safe’s Training & Examination will be accepted throughout the state and will be valid for a total of 3 years.

    County  Regulations

    Montana requires each retail food establishment manager to be certified as a Food Protection Manager.

    To do so, you must complete a training course and pass, with at least 75%, an ANSI certified exam.

    The Food Manager Certification is valid for 3 years in most cases, however, this can vary so be sure to check with your local health department director.

    In order to receive your Food Protection Manager certificate, you will need to complete the exam in a proctored environment.
