At least one Person in Charge (PIC) must be a Certified Food Protection Manager in a foodservice establishment in New Jersey.
To comply with the New Jersey Food Code, a PIC must take an accredited food safety course and pass a certification examination recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The certification must be renewed every 5 years.

In order to receive your Food Protection Manager certificate, you will need to complete the exam in a proctored environment.
